Third Party Events

We thank you for selecting United Way of York Region (UWYR) as the charity your event will support.

To help make your event a success, United Way can offer approved 3rd party events the following:

• Advice on event planning
• Access to use of our logo + guidelines that outline its usage (logo is a registered trademark and cannot be altered in any way)
• A letter of support to validate the authenticity of the event and its organizers, which will include our Charitable Registration Number
• Provision of some promotional material (i.e. signage/banner)
• Assistance setting up pledging process
• A staff or volunteer speaker may attend the event and/or cheque presentation
• Tax receipts for eligible donations depending on the nature of the event (please note: UWYR is committed to adhering to the Canada Revenue Agency Guidelines for tax receipting of charitable gifts)

United Way of York Region is unable to provide:

• Shared mailing lists of corporate partners, donors, sponsors, or volunteers. UWYR must be informed of companies that you are seeking support from before they are contacted, to ensure that there is no overlap with current events or events in planning process
• Staff resources to assist in event-planning
• Guaranteed media presence or coverage of/at event
• Confirmed volunteers for your event – a call-out will be made, however, UWYR cannot guarantee their participation
• Funding or reimbursement for expenses

Prior to holding your event, an application must be completed in full. Approval is granted on a per event basis, and United Way of York Region reserves the right to refuse any application not in keeping with the vision/mission of the organization.
